Well I have made it back to Fort Dauphin! I had a lovely flight with Kenya Airways via Nairobi this time... definitely recommend travelling this way. Not only is it cheaper but everything is in English all the way to Tana AND I only had to walk about 10 steps in Nairobi to make the connection - instead of the nightmare bus/chaos that is Charles de Gaulle airport that you get travelling with Air France or Air Madagascar. Only problem is that the Kenya Airways plane from Nairobi to Tana can't take large luggage (i.e. surf boards don't fit!!!) - I think that I will have to investigate their cargo facility as everything else was spot on! Go Kenya Airways - you have a new fan here - well done!
So how is Fort Dauphin - HOT, dam hot... which is nice if your with a lady but a'nt no good if your in the jungle (with thanks to Good Morning Vietnam). I couldn't hardly move yesterday but happy to be acclimatising back to these lovely temperatures. I hear that it has snowed again in the UK - I am so happy to have escaped the cold!
Samson is in fine form (literally!), too much surfing and no wife feeding him has trimmed him back to form!! He has recently been on a trip over to Itampolo, the photos are amazing ... I will upload some soon... and we have found a great new hotel to stay at... but there is one problem...
Where is everyone..that is what I want to know?! This country is amazing but there really is no one here on holiday or even doing business that I can see at the moment! Yes, I know that there is supposedly a 'political crisis' going on but honestly, down here in the South there has been no trouble at all. It is so sad that the lovely Malagasy are now really suffering. A year now without tourists and the whole economy is affected... which means that people are literally starving. Come back world... just avoid Tana (the capital) and you will have the most wonderful holiday here in Madagascar - I promise!
Anyway, I really must go to the market to find some food for this evening, then down to the beach for a walk with Blackie. I will be back soon with more news.

My first ever blog
Well here I am four days before heading back to Fort Dauphin writing my first ever blog!
My name is Alison - hope you like the Ring-tail Lemur photo. I am married to Samson - Fort Dauphin's surf dude extraordinare - who set me off on this journey by saying 'we need a website'... how can so few words encapsulate so many hours of mental torment?!!
I have been back for a break in the UK and thought that it would be easy enough to set up a website and a blog before heading back to Madagascar... only I started reading... and then read more... and more... and became quite freaked-out by all the options out there!
How do you decide how to build/host your website/blog when all you confidently know is that connection speeds and even supply of electricity is extremely irratic in Madagascar! However, I am diving in head first and giving it a go with blogger.com in the hope that lovely Jirama and Moov will do me proud when I get home.
Our website is still in construction so please bear with me on this (I have figured out how to put the links in!). In the meantime if you have found this blog and would like to know more about coming surfing with Born Naked it is just our website which is still 'under construction'... not us so do just leave me a comment here and I will email you back!
Enough of the promotion, I plan that this blog will give a flavour of life in Madagascar - miles from Wiltshire, UK where I come from originally. I hope that 'Bevolo and the Dog' will share my thoughts with family and friends (existing or still to be met) on this amazing, beautiful and crazy country.
That's all for now folks! As it is 4am UK time and I want to fiddle about with the colour scheme a bit more!!
